YANGON, Feb. 5 (Xinhua) -- A carton factory fire in an industrial zone in Myanmar's Yangon on Sunday afternoon has burned down 17 motor vehicles owned by the factory, local media reported Monday.
The fire razed the Grand Harvest paper box factory in Shwe Lin Pan Industrial Zone in Hlaingtharyar township at 4:15 p.m. local time, the Voice quoted the police as saying.
A total of 30 fire engines were used to fight the fire which was brought under control after one and a half hours' fight, making it possible to prevent other nearby wards from catching fire.
No casualties were reported in the tragedy.
However, investigation is being made into the cause of the fire and the loss is yet to be estimated, the report added.
Earlier on the same day, a kitchen fire broke out in Dala township, burning down six residential houses, according to other reports.
