KATHMANDU, Feb. 20 (Xinhua) -- Three Indian nationals were arrested in Rautahat of southern Nepal for smuggling weapons into the country, a senior police official said on Tuesday.
Superintendent of Police Yagya Binod Pokharel told the media that the Indian nationals were arrested during a raid by the Nepal Police from a local hotel in Gaur Municipality of Rautahat District acting on a tip-off.
The arrested Indian nationals are from the Indian State of Bihar. Pokharel said that the investigation is underway putting them into the police custody.
"We have seized automatic pistols, arms and ammunition from the Indian nationals. Investigation is underway," the police official added.
The Indian side has not not made any comments over the arrest of Indian nationals so far.
