ISLAMABAD, Feb. 26 (Xinhua) -- Pakistan's production of petroleum products improved by 8.14 percent during the first half of the fiscal year 2018 as against the corresponding period of the last fiscal year.
The Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), the South Asian country's premier agency for indexing key economic numbers, said on Monday that the production of petroleum products (POL) was augmented by an 11.61 percent growth in the output of motor spirits.
According to the official data, Pakistan's production of High Speed Diesel expanded by 7.55 percent, Diesel Oil by 25.22 percent, and Furnace Oil by 5.38 percent during the reporting period.
Similarly, the output of Jute Batching Oil jumped by 38.29 percent, Solvent Naptha by 15.05 percent, and Liquefied Petroleum Gas by 38.86 percent during the period under review.
On the other hand, the POL products with negative growth numbers included jet fuel, which slid by 3.01 percent, followed by kerosene oil with a decline of 8.14 percent and lubricating oil with a contraction of 17.63 percent.
