JAKARTA, March 2 (Xinhua) -- Indonesian CLS Knight will field in more young and local players playing in the ASEAN Basketball League for 2017-2018 season, the team coach said here on Friday.
Coach Koko Heru Setyo Nugroho said the decision aims at giving more experience to the young and local players in international tournaments, while the team is to compete hard and try to get victory.
"They must prove their capability in the field," he said.
Managing partner of CLS Knight Indonesia Chrstopher Tanuwijaya explained that the participation of the young and local players in the tournament is expected to give them more lessons and experience which can boost their skill and capabilities.
"Our focus now is development of young players and giving more opportunity to play to local basketball players. I think they will learn more from this opportunity," he said.
The 2017-2018 ASEAN Basketball League is currently in the seventh season of competition. The regular season kicked off on Nov. 17, 2017 and will end on March 28, 2018.
