ULAN BATOR, April 3 (Xinhua) -- Mongolia has imposed a ban on fishing from April 1 to June 15, the Ministry of Environment and Tourism said in a statement released on Tuesday.

According to the country's law on fauna, fishing is prohibited to allow for breeding from April 1 to June 15 every year.

Anyone found violating the ban will be fined 500 U.S. dollars.

Seventy five species of fish are registered in the country, according to the ministry.
