TOKYO, April 18 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks advanced Wednesday morning as Wall Street's rise overnight prompted investors to take bolder positions after the previous day's circumspect mood, with investors also hoping for a successful outcome of a Japan-U.S leaders' summit.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average added 282.66 points, or 1.29 percent, from Tuesday to 22,130.25.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, gained 16.74 points, or 0.97 percent, at 1,746.72.
Marine transportation, construction and real estate-linked issues comprised those that gained the most by the morning break.
