OTTAWA, June 3 (Xinhua) -- A shooting wounded four people at a crowded event in Pickering city in Southern Ontario, Canada late Saturday, local media reported early Sunday.

The gunfire occurred at around 11 p.m. Saturday (0300 GMT Sunday) at the 11th annual Pickering Ribfest, where thousands of people were gathering, according to CBC Sunday.

The four people wounded by bullets have been hospitalized for non-life-threatening injuries.

A police investigation into the shooting is underway.
