ISLAMABAD, June 7 (Xinhua) -- Two crew members were injured after a Pakistan Army Aviation's helicopter made a crash landing during a medical mission in the country's southwestern Balochistan province on Thursday, the military said.

An army statement said that the incident occurred when the chopper was shifting an injured paramilitary member of Frontier Corps (FC) from Kohlu district to Quetta, the provincial capital of Balochistan province, for medical treatment.

The injured FC member who was traveling in the helicopter lost his life before the crash landing, a statement from the army's media wing Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said, adding that the pilots remained safe in the crash.

The injured crew have been shifted to the Combined Military Hospital in Quetta for medical attention, said ISPR

The helicopter caught fire after the crash landing and clouds of thick black smoke caused by the fire could be seen rising from the crash site, said local media.

Earlier on May 8, two pilots sustained minor injuries when their trainer plane crashed in the country's eastern Lahore city.
