HANOI, July 2 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam imported 7 million tons of various kinds of oil and petroleum products valued at 4.6 billion U.S. dollars in the first half of this year, the Ministry of Industry and Trade said on Monday.
In the six-month period, Vietnam imported 730,000 tons of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) worth 412 million U.S. dollars, up 12.3 percent, and 28.2 percent, respectively.
Meanwhile, the country spent 508 million U.S. dollars importing other products made from oil, up 17.7 percent year-on-year.
In 2017, Vietnam imported over 12.8 million tons of oil and petroleum products totaling 7 billion U.S. dollars, and roughly 1.4 million tons of LPG worth 732 million U.S. dollars, according to its General Statistics Office.
