TOKYO, July 9 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks advanced Monday morning as Wall Street's rise late last week buoyed the market mood.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average gained 275.6 points, or 1.26 percent, from Friday to 22,063.74.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, added 17.72 points, or 1.05 percent, to 1,709.26.
Pharmaceutical, mining, and electric power and gas-related issues comprised those that gained the most by the morning break.
