HANOI, July 18 (Xinhua) -- The Vietnamese Government Office is compiling the government's resolution on major tasks and solutions in e-government development in the 2018-2020 period, with a vision towards 2025, Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc said here on Wednesday.
Vietnam is also working to establish a national committee on e-government led by the prime minister, with members being ministers, Phuc said at the Vietnam Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Summit which opened on Wednesday, Vietnam News Agency reported.
The national committee will also see participation of representatives from private economic sector to utilize public-private partnership in the field of ICT.
The government needs to change itself in the 4th Industrial Revolution to be able to govern the country in the digital age, said the prime minister.
Regarding Vietnam's e-government construction which began in 2000, the country still has incomplete legal framework, shortage of high-quality human resources, low safety level of information infrastructure, and low rate of public service users, he noted.
Themed "Toward the Digital Government and Economy," the 2018 Vietnam ICT Summit 2018 focused on e-government construction towards digital government, digital economy and digital infrastructure.
