RAMALLAH, Sept. 18 (Xinhua) -- A Palestinian man died on Tuesday, a few hours after he was arrested by Israeli soldiers during a raid into his hometown of Beit Rima near West Bank city Ramallah.
Palestinian official sources said they were informed by Israeli authorities that Mohammad Rimawi, 24, died while in custody of Israeli soldiers.
His family said that an Israeli military force stormed into their home and brutally beat the young man while he was still in bed and ripped of his clothes and then dragged him on the ground while he was seen unconscious, towards a military vehicle. A few hours later, they were informed of his death.
The family immediately demanded undertaking an autopsy of their son's body, and Israel reportedly agreed, according to the village council head Yazan Rimawi.
No Israeli official was available to immediately comment of the incident.
