LUSAKA, Jan. 6 (Xinhua) -- Zambia has named a 23-man squad on Saturday ahead of the African Nations Championship (CHAN) tournament.
Coach Wedson Nyirenda has blended young and regular experienced players in his final squad for the tournament, which only features players playing in the African leagues, according to a statement posted on the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) website.
The Chipolopolo are in Group B alongside Cote d'Ivoire, Uganda and Namibia.
The Chipolopolo will be making the third appearance at the tournament, with the team finishing third during its first appearance in 2009 before waiting seven years later to wind up at the quarterfinals stage in Rwanda.
The Zambian trainer has promised that his players were ready for the tournament which will be hosted by Morocco.
