PUL-E-KHUMRI, Afghanistan, Jan. 18 (Xinhua) -- At least eight Taliban militants including senior commander Mullah Jalal have been killed in Dand-e-Shahabudin district of Afghanistan's northern Baghlan province over the past three days, provincial police chief Ikramudin Sari said Thursday.
Three villages have also been liberated from Taliban clutch in the ongoing cleanup operations, the official said.
The cleanup operations would continue until the area is cleared of the insurgents, Sari added.
Taliban militants have yet to make comments on the report.
