CHARIKAR, Afghanistan, Feb. 6 (Xinhua) -- The Afghan forces have killed 10 armed fighters during overnight operations in Siagurd district, some 50 km north of Parwan's provincial capital Charikar, said the Interior Ministry on Tuesday.
During the operations, the main base of militants was also destroyed in Khishki valley and all their arms and ammunition were smashed, the ministry said.
Taliban militants, according to the ministry, had organized their subversive activities in parts of Parwan province, including the provincial capital Charikar.
The security forces would continue to wipe out militants in Siagurd and adjoining areas to ensure lasting peace in the relatively peaceful province, the ministry added.
Taliban militants are yet to make comment on the report.
