LOS ANGELES, Feb. 17 (Xinhua) -- The Phoenix Suns shooting guard Devin Booker won the Three-Point Contest of 2018 NBA All-Star Saturday night at Staples Center.
The 21-year-old young player overcame two rivals in the final round, the Los Angeles Clippers Tobias Harris who knocked down 18 threes in the first round and the Golden State Warriors famed three-point shooter Klay Thompson who won the event in 2016.
Booker won the contest with a record-setting round of 28 points, while Thompson came in second place with 25 points and Harris scored only 17 points.
"It was just a fun experience to be a part of. I thought I surprised a bunch of people. Hey, I gave it my all," the hottest shooter of the night said of his debut.
He also revealed that next year he will take part in Slam Dunk Contest at the All-Star weekend.
"Yeah, I'm going dunk contest next. No, I'm just kidding. No, you know, obviously, hopefully I can come back and maybe win it again," he said.
