DUBAI, March 23 (Xinhua) -- The ongoing four-day 12th edition of the Dubai Art Fair is attracting global fans.
Labelled "the most diversified art exhibition in the world," the fair is held from March 21 to 24 in Dubai's iconic holiday resort Madinat Jumeirah.
This year's Dubai Art showcases a total of 105 galleries from 48 countries and regions. The number of visitors, art buyers and rising talents is expected to peak on the weekend.
The exhibition is divided into three parts as "Contemporary Art" "Modern Art" and "Residential Creation". It shows the works of global artists who live in the United Arab Emirates for a short period of time.
In addition to gallery works, the fair will hold a series of art lectures and seminars to discuss the cutting-edge trends.
Myrna Ayad, director of the fair, said the Dubai Art Fair held for 12 consecutive years proves it a platform for art creation in the Middle East, North Africa, and South Asia.
Inspiration and initiatives are here to be inaugurated and announced. Careers embark on a broader international stage from here, and new partnerships and artistic explorations take place, Ayad noted.
The Abraaj Group Art Prize will be awarded during the fair, and the winner will receive 100,000 U.S. dollars.
