JAKARTA, April 9 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia's boxing team will have training and friendly matches in Ukraine as preparation for the Asian Games.
A total of six Indonesian boxers from the 49kg to 69kg weight classes will be at a training camp and fight with sparring partners in Ukraine for two months, the Secretary of the Indonesian Boxing Association Shelly Selowati said.
"It is part of the preparation for the Asian Games. They will stay in a training camp there and have some try-out matches," she said.
She said that the program is expected to increase the experience of the boxers and maximize their ability to compete in the Asian Games.
The official says the reason Ukraine has been chosen is because the country is not at the Asian Games.
The 18th Asian Games is scheduled to be held in August this year in the Indonesian capital of Jakarta and Palembang city, the provincial capital of South Sumatra province.??
