DOHA, April 11 (Xinhua) -- Qatar and Panama have signed two agreements on air service and cultural cooperation in Doha, the state-run Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported on Wednesday.

The Chairman of Qatar Civil Aviation Authority Abdullah bin Nasser Turki Al-Subaey met the Vice-Minister of Multilateral Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Panama Maria Luisa Navaro in Doha on Tuesday.

The two sides signed an air service agreement, aiming to operate unlimited number of passengers and commercial flights between the two countries.

The Panamanian envoy also signed a cultural cooperation agreement with Qatar's Minister of Culture and Sports Salah bin Ghanem Al Ali, which aims to strengthen the academic collaboration and exchange of expertise between the two sides.

Relations between Qatar and Panama were established under a Memorandum of Understanding on February 8, 2002.

Qatar is currently facing diplomatic and economic blockade imposed by Saudi Arabia and its allies, who accuse Doha of supporting "extremism" and their regional rival, Iran.
