BERLIN, April 17 (Xinhua) -- Arturo Vidal will miss the rest of the season after undergoing a minor surgery, Bayern Munich confirmed in an official statement on Tuesday.
The Chile international twisted his right knee during a training session on Saturday and had to be carted off the pitch.
As a result, the midfielder had to undergo a surgery by doctor Ulrich Boenisch on Monday.
Arturo Vidal will thus be out of action for the rest of the season. He will miss the German Cup and UEFA Champions League semi final in the upcoming weeks.
Vidal joined the "Bavarians" from Juventus in 2015 and has become a key player in Bayern's midfield. Since his arrival, Vidal has contributed 14 goals in 79 appearances.
Bayern Munich have lifted their 28th Bundesliga title and they still have the chance to reap more titles this season. Enditem
