In the past, “remote” would be the first word that came into people’s mind on the journey to Ali Prefecture in southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region. Now it only takes two hours to get there by plane from Gonggar Airport in Lhasa to Kunsha Airport in Ali Prefecture. The Ali Kunsha Airport was formally put into operation on July 1, 2010. The air route makes it easier to go to Ali.
