TOKYO, May 28 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks slipped marginally on Monday morning as the yen's appreciation against the U.S dollar dented exporter issues.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average edged down 5.52 points, or 0.02 percent, from Friday to 22,445.27.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, shed 3.49 points, or 0.2 percent, at 1,768.21.
Oil and coal product, mining, and marine transportation-linked issues comprised those that declined the most by the morning break.
