TOKYO, May 28 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks closed mixed on Monday, as buying on the back of hopes for the U.S.-Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) summit was offset by a firm yen dragging down exporters.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average added 30.30 points, or 0.13 percent, from Friday to close the day at 22,481.09.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, lost 1.28 points, or 0.07 percent, to finish at 1,770.42.
Air transportation, pulp and paper and real estate issues comprised those that gained the most by the close of play. Enditem
