2 Iranian guards killed in clashes with rebels on west border

TEHRAN, June 6 (Xinhua) -- Two border guards were killed in the clashes between Iranian security forces and the rebel groups in western country, official IRNA news agency reported on Wednesday.

The clashes erupted Tuesday night at Sardasht border post, the report said.

West and northwest of Iran have seen sporadic clashes between the Iranian Kurdish militants and the country's security forces over the past years.
