WUHAN, June 8 (Xinhua) -- China maintained its unbeaten run at the 2018 FINA Diving World Cup here in Wuhan on Friday, as Rio 2016 double gold medal winner Chen Aisen partnered with Yang Hao to dominate the 10m synchro platform competition.
Chen and Yang, who also snared gold at last year's Diving World Championships in Budapest, finished with a total score of 491.73 points, leading the second-placed Russian duo Aleksandr Belevtsev and Nikita Shleikher by 64.53. Australian pair Domonic Bedggood and Declan Stacey took the final podium place with 409.59.
"I have been through ups and downs recently. I am happy to have dived to my proper level today, although there were still areas to be improved upon," said Chen, who will compete in the singles event on Sunday. Two years ago in Rio de Janeiro, he was beaten into second place in that discipline by fellow countryman Qiu Bo.
China has showed great dominance since the tournament began on Monday, with home divers having swept all seven gold medals so far.
