TOKYO, June 26 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks closed marginally higher in choppy trade Tuesday as investors bought back issues that had tanked in the morning amid heightening global trade tensions.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average edged up 3.85 points, or 0.02 percent, from Monday to close the day at 22,342.00.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, added 2.8 points, or 0.16 percent, to finish at 1,731.07.
Electric power and gas, fishery, agriculture and forestry, and marine transportation-linked issues comprised those that gained the most by the close of play.
