KUNMING, June 29 (Xinhua) -- A new railway linking Kunming, capital of southwest China's Yunnan Province, and Dali City will begin operation on Sunday, China Railway said Friday.
The 328-km railway allows high-speed trains to run at 200 km per hour, according to the company.
Travel time between Kunming and Dali, one of the most popular tourist destinations of the province, will be cut from more than five hours to two hours.
The 328-km line has five stations in-between. Passengers can book train tickets from 6:00 p.m. Friday.
