TAIPEI, July 10 (Xinhua) -- An ongoing forum in Taiwan is focusing on artificial intelligence (AI).
The Global Initiatives Symposium opened Monday in Taiwan University, drawing more than 200 students from around the world to discuss and share ideas about AI technology.
Kung Ling-chieh, a professor with the university, said that the technology would have a huge impact on society, and that it was important to learn how to face the challenges.
"We need to make innovations in software development, commerce and talent cultivation," Kung said.
Lu Kuan-wei, an expert with online education, said that artificial intelligence could assist online education in the future, which would relieve the pressure of teachers and help students learn on their own.
Participants will also discuss other topics, such as economy and personalized study.
The forum lasts until Friday.
