TEHRAN, July 23 (Xinhua) -- Iran international volleyball player Saeid Marouf sustained a meniscus injury during the training.
Marouf, captain of Iran men's national volleyball team, was forced to leave the training due to the injury, according to Tehran Times' report on Sunday. The MRI will reveal the extent of the injury later.
The 32-year-old setter is likely to miss the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta, Indonesia.
The men's volleyball competition will be held from August 20 to September 1. Defending champion Iran have been drawn along with Pakistan and Mongolia in Group B of the Games.
