BEIJING, July 27 (Xinhua) -- China will send a team of 25 shuttlers to the upcoming 2018 BWF World Championships in Nanjing, coaches revealed on Thursday at a press conference held by the Organizing Committee.
The Chinese team's roster comprises both big names and young talents. All three Chinese players ranked in the BWF top 10 - Shi Yuqi, Chen Long and Lin Dan - will participate in the men's singles. Chen Yufei and He Bingjiao will compete in the women's singles competition along with 20-year-old Chen Xiaoxin.
As for the doubles, defending champions Liu Cheng/Zhang Nan, world no.1 Chen Qingchen/Jia Yifan and Zheng Siwei/Huang Yaqiong are the leading contenders in the men's, women's and mixed doubles respectively.
"We should keep a low profile and remain totally dedicated," said Zhang Jun, China's doubles head coach. "Only careful preparation will yield good results."
The 2018 BWF World Championship will be held at Nanjing Sports Park between July 30 and August 5.
The 25 Chinese shuttlers taking part are as follows:
Men's singles: Chen Long, Shi Yuqi, Lin Dan, Huang Xiangyu
Women's singles: Chen Yufei, He Bingjiao, Chen Xiaoxin
Men's doubles: Liu Cheng/Zhang Nan, Li Junhui/Liu Yuchen, Han Chengkai/Zhou Haodong, He Jiting/Tan Qiang
Women's doubles: Chen Qingchen/Jia Yifan, Yu Xiaohan/Huang Yaqiong, Du Yue/Li Yinhui, Huang Dongping/Li Wenmei
Mixed doubles: Wang Yilyu/Huang Dongping, Zheng Siwei/Huang Yaqiong, He Jiting/Du Yue, Zhang Nan/Li Yinhui
