GUANGZHOU, Aug. 15 (Xinhua) -- Typhoon Bebinca, the 16th this year, made landfall at around 9:40 p.m. Wednesday in Zhanjiang, south China's Guangdong Province, packing winds of up to 23 meters per second near its eye, according to the provincial meteorological center.
The tropical storm is expected to traverse the Leizhou Peninsula before moving to the Beibu Gulf on Thursday morning.
