WINDHOEK, Aug. 30 (Xinhua) -- Namibia's women national team will face Zimbabwe, Swaziland and Uganda in Group C of the 2018 Council of Southern Africa Football Association (COSAFA) Women's Championships that will take place in South Africa from September 12 to 22.
The draw for the regional competition took place in Johannesburg on Wednesday.
The other groups for the competition are as follows: Group A - South Africa, Botswana, Madagascar and Malawi; Group B - Zambia, Cameroon, Lesotho and Mozambique.
Namibia who are in Group C will face their very first challenge in the form of guests the Crested Cranes from Uganda.
According to Namibia football Association in a statement the top team in each pool will advance to the semifinals along with the best-placed runners-up.
The first COSAFA Women's Championship was held in Zimbabwe in 2002 and was won by South Africa, who beat the hosts 2-1 in the final. Last year South Africa lifted the trophy again after defeating Zimbabwe.
