RIYADH, Sept. 4 (Xinhua) -- Saudi Arabia intercepted on Tuesday two ballistic missiles shot by Houthi militias towards border city Jazan, Al Arabiya local news reported.
The Houthis have stepped up missiles attacks on Saudi Arabia in recent months, in which the Saudi-led coalition involved in a war in Yemen announced on Monday that the militias have attacked the kingdom with 186 missiles since the beginning of the war in 2015.
The coalition has requested the international community to tackle the crisis in Yemen by opposing the role of Iran in backing the militias with weapons and missiles to destabilize the regional stability.
The Houthis' missile attacks were a response to the coalition's airstrikes that target the areas under their control in Yemen.
