KIGALI, Sept. 21 (Xinhua) -- Rwandan President Paul Kagame on Friday sent a message of condolence to families of victims of a ferry accident on Lake Victoria in Tanzania.
"Our deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims of the Lake Victoria ferry accident. Our thoughts are with you. We cannot thank the rescuers enough," Kagame said in a tweet.
A passenger ferry capsized on Lake Victoria, in Ukurewe district, in Mwanza of Tanzania, on Thursday.
A government spokesperson was quoted by Tanzanian national media as saying the death toll has reached 131.
Tanzanian President John Magufuli has announced a four-day mourning for the victims. Enditem
