BUENOS AIRES, Oct. 11 (Xinhua) -- Argentine shooter Facundo Firmapaz could not hide his delight after taking bronze in front of an adoring crowd in the 10m air rifle international mixed team event at the Youth Olympics on Thursday.
Firmapaz teamed with Finland's Viivi Natalia Kemppi to beat Mexico's Gabriela Fernanda Martinez Lopez and Austria's Stefan Wadlegger 10-7 in the match for third place.
"I feel immense joy for having added a medal at home and in front of my whole family," Firmapaz said after his triumph at Sarmiento Park in the Argentine capital.
Hungary's Zalan Pekler and Mongolia's Enkhmaa Erdenechuluun claimed the gold medal in the event, whose preliminary rounds began on Wednesday.
They beat Russia's Anastasiia Dereviagina and Mexico's Edson Ismael Ramirez Ramos 10-9 in the final.
