FRANKFURT, Nov. 5 (Xinhua) -- German stocks closed flat on Monday, with the benchmark DAX index down 24.03 points, or 0.21 percent, at 11,494.96 points.
Semiconductor manufacturer Infineon Technologies lost 3.71 percent, becoming the top loser among the blue chips, followed by tire specialist Continental and material manufacturer Covestro, which lost 3.54 percent and 2.89 percent respectively.
Automotive manufacturer Volkswagen and energy group E.ON, the top two gainers, each added 1.11 percent. Pharmaceutical company Merck advanced 0.95 percent.
Chemical group BASF was the most traded share with a turnover of 161.41 million euros (183.52 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
