DUBAI, Dec. 18 (Xinhua) -- The Foreign Ministry of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) affirmed on Tuesday "full solidarity" with Saudi against the recent U.S. Senate decision or any attempts to undermine the kingdom's regional position, state-run WAM news agency reported.
"The UAE rejects any interference in the internal affairs of Saudi under any justification," the ministry said in a statement.
It also expressed "rejection for any baseless allegations, accusations and all attempts that would harm the kingdom's fundamental role as a major power that ensures security and stability in the Arab and Muslim countries."
The U.S. Senate voted on Thursday to end U.S. military support for the war in Yemen and blamed Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi.
Saudi Arabia on Monday denounced U.S. Senate resolutions as based on unsubstantiated claims.
The Saudi Foreign Ministry warned that the kingdom would not tolerate any "disrespect" of its rulers, adding that "the U.S. Senate sends the wrong messages to all those who want to cause a rift in Saudi-U.S. relationship."
The UAE Foreign Ministry pointed out the Saudi contributions in leading the international efforts in combating terrorism in the military, security and financial and intellectual fields.
It reiterated the Saudi active role in the U.S.-led coalition against Islamic State as well as facing Iran's activities that "seek destabilization of the region."
