Leading Chinese, U.S. economists to discuss China's economic outlook

NEW YORK, Dec. 21 (Xinhua) -- Leading Chinese and American economists will discuss China's economic outlook for 2019 in January in New York.

The half-day conference, scheduled from 8:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. on Jan. 10 at the Citigroup Center, is co-hosted by the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations (NCUSCR) and Peking University's China Center for Economic Research.

Keynote speakers include Justin Yifu Lin, director of the Center for New Structural Economics of Peking University, and Qin Xiao, former chairman of China Merchants Group & China Merchants Bank.

The discussion will be moderated by Michelle Caruso-Cabrera, chief international correspondent of CNBC, and Stephen A. Orlins, NCUSCR president.

Topics include risks and opportunities in China's economy in 2019 and beyond, cross-border capital flows and financial deleveraging, and expected reforms for China in 2019.
