KABUL, Dec. 24 (Xinhua) -- Another blast hit the Afghan capital of Kabul as a gun battle erupted outside the Ministry for Public Work, an official said on Monday.
The militants after detonating an explosive-laden car outside the ministry entered the compound, triggering a gun battle with police, the official said on condition of anonymity.
The first blast took place at 3:20 p.m. local time outside the Ministry of Public Work, where some government entities as well as residential buildings are situated.
Meantime, the Interior Ministry spokesman Najib Danesh confirmed the attack but declined to comment on possible casualties.
"It is too early to say about the casualties," he told local media.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
