ULAN BATOR, Jan. 3 (Xinhua) -- Mongolia's capital Ulan Bator city has declared 2019 as citizen participation-development year, the mayor's press office said Thursday.
"The year 2019 is a special year for Ulan Bator. This year marks the 380th anniversary of the establishment of the city," Jantsan Batbayasgalan, acting mayor of the capital city, said at the first meeting of Ulan Bator City Council in 2019 on Thursday.
"We need to listen to the voices of our residents in order to intensify the development and prosperity of the city, and solve the pressing issues, including traffic jam and air pollution. So, we declared 2019 as citizen participation-development year," the acting mayor said.
