ULAN BATOR, Jan. 8 (Xinhua) -- Former Mongolian Justice and Home Affairs Minister Dambii Dorligjav was arrested on suspicion of bribery, the country's Independent Agency Against Corruption (IAAC) confirmed on Tuesday.

"The IAAC arrested Dorligjav over alleged corruption early Tuesday," Tumur Munkhtungalag, spokesperson of the country's top anti-corruption agency, told Xinhua.

It was reported in mid-December that Dorligjav allegedly took bribes of 4 million U.S. dollars from a mining company in his capacity as prosecutor general.

The 60-year-old served as prosecutor general in 2010-2014 and as the justice and home affairs minister in 2014-2016.
