ULAN BATOR, Jan. 11 (Xinhua) -- Mongolia imported a total of 64,000 cars in 2018, up 31 percent from the previous year, the Mongolian Customs General Administration (MCGA) said Friday.
Importing these automobiles cost Mongolia 407.8 million U.S. dollars, a 56 percent growth from 2017.
Hybrid cars accounted for 54 percent of the total imported cars in 2018, according to the MCGA.
In addition, the country imported 22,000 heavy trucks in 2018, 57 percent more than 2017, mostly due to rising activities in the mining industry in the country, according to the official data released by the MCGA.
