MUSCAT, Jan. 14 (Xinhua) -- Sultan Qaboos bin Said of Oman on Monday received U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo at Bait Al Baraka in Muscat.
Sultan Qaboos and Pompeo reviewed Omani-U.S. cooperation in the different fields to serve the interests of the two friendly peoples and discussed regional and international developments, according to the official Omani news agency.
The meeting was attended by Yusuf bin Alawi, the Omani minister responsible for foreign affairs, Marc J. Sievers, the U.S. ambassador in Muscat, and David Satterfield, the U.S. Assistant Secretary of State (Acting) for Near Eastern Affairs.
