BEIJING, Jan. 26 (Xinhuanet) -- Thailand launched its first e-visa application service in Beijing, making China the first country to enjoy this service, as a launch ceremony was held Friday in the Thai embassy.
Starting Feb. 15, applicants in Beijing can apply for their visas online. The service will be available in other Chinese cities from March. Thailand received over 38 million overseas tourists last year, among them around one third Chinese tourists, according to Piriya Khempon, Thai ambassador at the ceremony.
The e-visa service will facilitate Chinese visitors’ entry to Thailand, he said.
