HO CHI MINH CITY, Jan. 30 (Xinhua) -- A total of 295 fires and explosions occurred in Vietnam in January, killing 12 people and injuring 15 others.
The fires and explosions also caused property losses of about 78 billion Vietnamese dong (3.4 million U.S. dollars), the country's Fire Prevention and Fight Department said on Wednesday.
The nation witnessed 399 fires and explosions in January 2018, which left 13 people dead and 32 others injured, and caused losses of 177.5 billion Vietnamese dong (7.7 million U.S. dollars).
According to the department,Vietnam faced 4,075 fires and explosions which killed 112 people, injured 263 others, and caused property losses of some 1,700 billion Vietnamese dong (73.9 million U.S. dollars) last year.
