CHICAGO, Feb. 4 (Xinhua) -- Governor of U.S. state of Missouri Mike Parson is scheduled to hang a Chinese couplet on the door of the governor's office on the eve of the Chinese Lunar New Year which falls on Tuesday this year.
On Jan. 23, Parson signed a proclamation to mark the Chinese New Year. Similarly, Mayor of Chicago Rahm Emanuel signed a proclamation on Jan. 18 to mark the Chinese New Year.
This is the second year for Missouri to mark Chinese Lunar New Year. In 2018, then Missouri Governor Eric Greitens and first lady Sheena Greitens, in red tie and red dress respectively, posted an inversed Chinese character "Happiness", which means happiness is coming, on the door of the governor's office.
