BERLIN, Feb. 10 (Xinhua) -- Milot Rashica's brace helped Werder Bremen to move 4-0 past struggling Augsburg at the closer of the 21st round in Bundesliga on Sunday.

The "Green-Whites" enjoyed a flying start in front of their home crowd as Milot Rashica benefitted on an assist from Davy Klaassen to break the deadlock with just five minutes played.

Augsburg lacked in penetration and tested Bremen goalkeeper Jiri Pavlenka only once through Alfred Finnbogason in the 14th minute.

The hosts soon assumed control again and shocked Augsburg twice rapidly. Johannes Eggestein capitalized on a blocked shot to double the lead in the 27th minute before Rashica danced through Augsburg's defense and curled the ball into the far post corner one minute later.

After the interval, Werder Bremen focused on fast breaks and handed over control to Augsburg, who were unable to pose any threat to the host's well-positioned defense.

However, Bremen were not done with the scoring and put the result beyond doubt in the closing period as Kevin Moehwald unleashed a long-range effort to make it 4-0 on the scoreboards with seven minutes remaining.

With the result, Werder Bremen continue on the 10th place of the Bundesliga standings meanwhile Augsburg stay in the 15th position, a touching distance to the drop zone.

"We had some luck in the first half and in the second half we sat back and controlled the proceedings. I am very happy with the performance of my team in the last days," Bremen head coach Florian Kohfeldt said.

"Werder Bremen had four shots on target in the first half and they scored three goals. In the second half we lacked ideas and were unable to produce chances," Augsburg head coach Manuel Baum said.

Elsewhere, newly promoted Fortuna Dusseldorf upset struggling Stuttgart 3-0. Goals from Dusseldorf's Kenan Kraman, Oliver Fink and Benito Ramen were enough to secure all three points on home soil.

To make things worse for Stuttgart they had to complete the encounter with 10 men as Nicolas Gonzales saw a straight red card following a violent conduct in the dying seconds of the game.

As a result, Fortuna Dusseldorf jumped to the 12th place. Stuttgart remained in the 16th position, which is a relegation playoff spot.
