TEHRAN, Feb. 13 (Xinhua) -- Zob Ahan SC of Iran claimed a place in the 2019 AFC Champions League playoffs after defeating Kuwait SC 1-0 after extra time in the second premiminary round on Tuesday.
Christian Osaguona found the net in the 110th minute to help the Iranian outfit edge past their rivals in extra time at the Foolad Shahr Stadium in Iran's Isfahan city.
Zob Ahan, the 2010 AFC Champions League runners-up, will meet Al Gharafa of Qatar in the playoff round next week.
Earlier on Tuesday, Iran's Saipa defeated Indian side Minerva Punjab 4-0 and now face a playoff tie against Qatari club Al Rayyan.
