RABAT, Feb. 14 (Xinhua) -- Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita said on Thursday that relations between Morocco and the Gulf countries are "strong and historical."
Bourita gave this statement in response to reporters' question at a joint conference in the capital Rabat with his Spanish counterpart Josep Borrell.
He also described as "inaccurate" some media reports that Morocco recalled ambassadors to Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) last week.
"The two ambassadors were indeed in Morocco to take part in meetings, but returned to their posts earlier this week," Bourita said.
The meetings the two ambassadors had attended aimed at examining the "significant changes" in the region, he stressed.
