YANGON, March 1 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar authorities seized narcotic drugs worth over 844.6 million kyats (563,127 U.S. dollars) in central Mandalay region, according to the Central Committee for Drug Abuse on Friday.
The seizure was made by the police in Aungmyethazan town on Thursday.
Two people were arrested with sacks which were filled with a total of 143,990 stimulant tablets, 1.78 kg of heroin, two mobile phones and cashes.
The regional police filed against the two suspects under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.
